Highlights from the segment:
DeCluttering the Garage
- Pull everything out
- Put like items together
- Throw out rubbish and broken items
- Rehouse items that belong elsewhere
- Cull excess goods no longer required
- Look at what is left and assess your space
Organizing the Prime Real Estate within your garage:
- The easiest areas to access are where you place your most used items. Likewise the least used items are placed in the hardest areas to access.
- Long span shelving is ideal in garage areas as you can adjust the length, width, height and shelf height to suit your goods. It fits perfectly down the sides of the garage door and it’s free standing so you can take it with you when you move. Also it’s great for storage sheds.
- Use clear plastic tubs for smaller items to contain and keep together.
- Use hooks to hang bikes, cords, tools etc so they don’t become a tripping hazard.
- Sell off unwanted goods of value
- Use storage for larger items that you need to keep but are competing for space in your garage.
To keep your garage DeCluttered and Organized simply repeat the above process every 6 to 12 months, or as required.
